What the course will give you
The honours degree programme in graphic design at Management and Science University (MSU) is delivered by the Department of Media Science and Graphic (MSG) at the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE). Courses offered on the BGD programme include computerized graphics, theory of graphic design, history of graphic design, illustration design, typography, and graphic layout.
A system of mentoring will add depth and breadth to your understanding of graphic design. Industrial training at the end of your studies prepares you for your future career in graphic design. Where the qualification may lead you to
Graphic design has a wide scope of versatility, allowing you to apply your knowledge and skills to advertising, public relations, publishing, journalism, marketing, packaging and events management. Industry job titles include Creative/Art Director, Layout Artist, Animation Character Designer, Brand Identity Designer, Logo Designer, Photojournalist, Technical Illustrator, Advertising Designer, Photoshop Artist, Multimedia Designer, Photographer, Prepress Technician, Web Designer, Design Educator, and Packaging Designer.
Who may enrol
You need at least a C (2.00 CGPA) in two (2) subjects at STPM/A-level or Jayyid in STAM or 2.00 CGPA in Matriculation/Foundation/Diploma (MQF Level 4) or a B in five (5) subjects in UEC or a score of 65%-70% in SAM or 80% aggregate score in CPU or other qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia. You need also to pass an interview and a drawing test by MSU (except for History and Design programmes) and obtain Band 1 in MUET.
