Landmark MSU Medical Centre and The Residence ready for slated 2018 openings at Management and Science University (MSU)

Management and Science University (MSU) is all set to unveil its MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC) and The Residence this year.

Respectively the University’s student accommodation and teaching hospital, the two new facilities sharing the University grounds in Shah Alam are set to offer premium services at a premium location. 

In its role of a teaching hospital, the MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC) will serve both the University’s students and members of the public. Designed for multidisciplinary medical service, MSUMC will be in a position to offer a host of medical practices ranging from general practitioner to family and emergency, to numerous specializations. The 250-bed MSUMC is set to cater to various distinctive areas of diagnosis and treatment, from general medicine, surgery, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and allied therapies, to rehabilitation, nursing and pharmacy. Specializations include internal medicine; obstetrics and gynaecology; paediatric; ophthalmology; otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose, throat) and head and neck; orthopaedics, traumatology and rehabilitation; anaesthesiology and intensive care; psychiatry; radiology; pathology; urology; endoscopy; and dentistry.

 

Slated to open in June 2018, the 250-bed teaching hospital Management and Science University Medical Centre (MSUMC) is set to cater to a wide demographic of patients across various medical specializations

 

The Residence will be the city of Shah Alam’s latest student housing for international as well as local students of Management and Science University (MSU). The accommodation facility comprises 3-bedroom and studio apartments, with single rooms and twin-sharing rooms for over a thousand future students, and separate floors for male and female students. Designed to be a homely, friendly, supportive, and safe living environment, The Residence will be professionally managed by a Warden and a team of managers as well as security personnel. Safety is further secured by a round-the-clock CCTV surveillance and smart-card access. A hotel occupying the ground floor is set to accommodate guests of the University as well as families of MSUMC warders.

The city of Shah Alam boasts numerous facilities including parks and shopping centres, some of which are among the biggest for miles around. Close to Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur as well as satellite cities Petaling Jaya and Klang, the Shah Alam Municipality is well served by easy access from the surrounding major highways. 

Management and Science University (MSU) is home to nine academic faculties including the International Medical School (IMS), the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), and the School of Pharmacy (SPH). Between them, the Cluster of Medical and Health Sciences faculties offer undergraduate programmes of study ranging from medicine and surgery, midwifery, and medical laboratory technology, to radiotherapyoptometry, and pharmaceutical technology.

Four years later in 2022, MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC) received a full four-year certification by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH); a full-fledged private specialist hospital in Shah Alam certified for Safety and Quality in Health Care.
