Travel widens horizons and bridges cultures. To the traveler it enriches the mind; to the world it spreads mutual understanding and respect. Embedded in the curriculum of Management & Science University (MSU) are travel and international mobility delivering holistic MSU learning experiences in the likes of Global Mobility (GMP), Global Leadership (GLP), and Global Internship (GIP) programmes. For students of the MSU International Medical School (IMS), recently, the GLP worked its magic yet again with the latest edition of Meducation Tour.

Meducation Tour United Kingdom 2016 flew a group of medical students to one of MSU’s many partner universities: the University of Dundee, home to Scotland’s best medical school. The students also visited Ninewells Hospital west of Dundee, a large teaching hospital renowned for laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, cancer management, and medical genetics research.

Malaysia Fest 2016 coinciding with the trip meant it was not all work and no play. The MSUrians were entrusted with cultural ambassadorship for Tourism Malaysia, an enviable first-ever privilege among Malaysian university students. Performing Malaysian inter-cultural dances and the Malay martial art silat in London’s Trafalgar Square, the students drew both crowd and delight.

The lightness of foot displayed by the future doctors and medical scientists, while contrasting with the serious nature of their programmes of study, can only be testimony to the well-roundedness of their education. A five-year accreditation awarded by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) to IMS Bangalore has set MSU apart with the distinction of being the first accredited private Malaysian university. Comprehensive quality measures leading to winning that distinction parallel those ensuring development of all MSUrians into the best that they can be.

MSU International Medical School (IMS) runs medical programmes in both its Shah Alam and Bangalore campuses.
