What the course will give you
Teacher education in technical vocational education and training is essential to sustainable development of national economy. At MSU, teacher education in electrical and electronic engineering equips you with the basics of both teaching and also technology and engineering concepts so you can help students prepare for entry into higher, technical vocational education. Delivered by the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS), courses on the Bachelor in Education (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) (Hons) programme include education philosophy, sociology, psychology, and technology; information technology and multimedia; instrumentation and measurement; electronic fundamentals, digital logic design, and communication system.
Mentoring by your lecturers will add depth and breadth to your understanding of electrical and electronic engineering teaching. Holistic MSU learning experience will enhance your core competencies in electrical and electronic engineering teaching. Your training qualifies you to assume the roles of Science Lesson Planner/Teacher, Camp Science (Engineering Physics) Specialist/Teacher, Secondary Technology Education Teacher, and Science/Technology/Engineering/Math Coach, among others. You may also go on to Master studies in technical vocational education.
Who may enrol
You need to pass STPM or equivalent, with either a C in three (3) subjects including Pengajian Am (General Studies) / Kertas Am (General Paper) or a C in two (2) subjects including Pengajian Am (General Studies) and a D in two (2) other subjects, AND to pass SPM or equivalent with Credit in Bahasa Melayu; OR A-levels with a Pass in three (3) subjects, or South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with a score of at least 65%-75%, or Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with a score of at least 80%; OR MSU Foundation Certificate programme with at least 2.00 CGPA; OR an MSU or MSU College Diploma with at least 2.00 CGPA; OR other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.
