What the course will give you
The teaching of physical education (PE) and health at MSU equips you with the knowledge and skills to promote physical activity among children and young adults, develop their motor skills, and assist their physical development. Delivered by the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS), courses on the Bachelor in Education (Physical Education and Health) (Hons) programme include education philosophy, sociology, psychology, and technology; scientific principles of coaching and officiating; principles of, and teaching skills in, physical education; computer application in sports; sports injury management; movement skills; and also kinesiology and exercise physiology.
As a PE teacher, you must have deep knowledge of physical activities and have strong speaking, listening, and communicating skills. Mentoring by your lecturers will add depth and breadth to your understanding, and holistic MSU learning experiences will enhance your soft skills besides equipping you with core competencies in physical and health education. MSU programmes of global mobility, leadership, and internship will give you the opportunity of diverse practical experience across human movement, physical education, health maintenance, and personal development.

Where the qualification may lead you to
You may find employment in a range of educational environments including government and private schools. You may also find opportunities in the leisure industry, as Health/Sports Officer in recreation centres. Your career progression may lean towards Athletic Director or PE Director.
Who may enrol
You need to pass STPM with at least a C in three (3) subjects including Pengajian Am (General Studies) / Kertas Am (General Paper), or a C in two (2) subjects including Pengajian Am (General Studies) / Kertas Am (General Paper) plus a D in two (2) other subjects, AND pass SPM or equivalent with a Credit in Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Melayu (Silibus X); OR A-Level with a Pass in at least three (3) subjects; OR South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with a score of at least 65%; OR Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with a score of at least 80%; OR an MSU Foundation Certificate; OR an MSU or MSU College Diploma; OR other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.
