What the course will give you
The honours degree programme in public relations management at Management and Science University (MSU) is delivered by the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS). Courses offered on the BPR programme include public-speaking skills, communication skills, interpersonal communication, publicity media and public relations writing, and corporate communication management.

Your lecturers are industry professionals whose input will increase your knowledge and understanding. You will also have the opportunity to develop your entrepreneurial skills, and a period of internship towards the end of your studies will prepare you for the industry’s job market. You graduate equipped for a professional career in public relations management.

Where the qualification may lead you to
With online media becoming mainstream, PR graduates are also increasingly hired to manage the online presence of corporations, in departments such as investor relations, public affairs, and crisis management besides corporate communication. You could be working at an agency and for several clients, or, after some years of experience, start your own agency.

Industry job titles in public relations include Special Events Coordinator, Media Relations Officer, Issues Manager, and Public Relations Writer, Publication Layout Artist, and Community Relations Officer, whereas in entertainment management include Media Director, Promotions Director, Production Music Manager, Performance Manager, Business Manager, Artist Manager, and Booking Agent.

Who may enrol You need to obtain a Pass in Mathematics and English Language at SPM level AND pass STPM or equivalent with at least a C (2.0 CGPA) in two (2) subjects OR STAM with Jayyid.

Other options include passing UEC with at least a B in five (5) subjects including Mathematics and English Language OR Matriculation/Foundation with at least 2.00 CGPA OR SAM scoring at least 65%-70% aggregate OR CPU scoring at least 80% aggregate OR other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.

To note: The requirement to pass Mathematics and English Language at SPM level may be exempted from STPM/Matriculation/Foundation/SAM applicants if their score for Mathematics and English Language at their qualification level equals or exceeds that of the Pass at SPM level.
