What the course will give you
Whether you want to work in the kitchen, design your own restaurant, or run a catering business, MSU’s diploma programme in culinary arts is a recipe of solid culinary knowledge blended with practical competency and management skills. If you are passionate about food and making it look good, DCA may be just the course for you. You will learn about food safety and sanitation, nutrition, cuisines, baking, restaurant and catering, also purchasing and cost control. You will develop speed and teamwork, also communication and management skills.
You will train in our industry-standard on-campus kitchen and fine-dining room. Your lecturers are seasoned professionals of the industry, experts who developed our curriculum and share our passion in and commitment to experiential learning. A period of industrial internship towards the end of your studies will place you right in the heart of the job market, so you graduate industry-ready for a professional career in the art of the culinary.

Where the qualification may lead you to
You could be working in restaurants, hotels, and shops, also for caterers, in the industry or government service, academia or vocational training, customer service, and the food manufacturing industry.
Who may enrol
You will need THREE (3) Credits at SPM level OR an MSU Foundation Certificate OR an equivalent qualification recognized by MSU Senate.
Diploma in Culinary Arts (DCA) is a two-and-a-half-year career-focused industry-developed programme of MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA).
