About the Course
The Bachelor of Event Management (Honours) (BEM) is an undergraduate academic programme that leverages on a unique learning opportunity in the combined disciplines of event, hospitality, tourism and management. Students pursuing the programme will be exposed to both in the event, hospitality and tourism industry, as well as to the state-of-the-art technologies used in the fields of economics, management and marketing. As such, graduates of the programme are expected to be competent to handle not only the common event, hospitality and tourism practice but as well to provide advice on complex strategic issues in business decision making process.

Entry Requirement

(i) STPM Candidate :

    (a) Pass SPM or its equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu and pass General Science or Additional Science or Biology/Chemistry/Physics

    and

    (b) A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C in 2 subjects including Pengajian Am/Kertas Am (General Studies/General Paper) or at least 2.00 CGPA;

    OR

(ii) Ministry of Education (KPM) Matriculation Certificate or MSU Foundation Certificate, or Foundation Certificate or its equivalent from higher learning institution;

    OR

(iii) Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in relevant field from any provider of higher education;

    OR

(iv) Pass at least 3 subjects in A-Level;

    OR

(v) Pass The South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with minimum score of 65% - 70%;

    OR

(vi) Pass Canadian Pre University Programme (CPU) with minimum score of 80%;

    OR

(vii) Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least grade B in 5 subjects;

    OR

(viii) Other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government

Graduates will find ample opportunity in government services, academia as well as internationally recognised hotels, event organizations and travel operators. Organisationally, graduates will be absorbed into government ministries and departments, local authorities, event companies, hotels, travel agents, transport operators, corporations and companies, banks, insurance companies, multimedia telecommunication companies and marketing agencies.
