About the Course
The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) programme incorporates diverse practices including hospital pharmacy, medication, health counselling and consultation, patient management, dispensing, and clinical pharmacy practices to prepare students for immediate employment. Students will be exposed to skills and knowledge in pharmaceutical care and research as well as equipped with employability skills and qualities necessary for today’s dynamic working world. Graduates of this programme are expected to serve the community with confident and be able to improve the quality use of medicines for better living.

Entry Requirement

(i) STPM Candidate :

    (a) Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with credit in Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Melayu Silibus X/Bahasa Malaysia II;


    (b) Pass STPM or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C in 3 subjects including Pengajian Am/Kertas Am (General Studies/General Paper);


    (c) A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C in 2 subjects including Pengajian Am (General Studies) and Grade D for 2 other subjects;


(ii) Ministry of Education (KPM) Matriculation Certificate or MSU Foundation Certificate;


(iii) Diploma in relevant field from PTPL/MSU, or Certificate/Diploma in relevant field from Polytechnic, IPTS or other institution recognised by MSU Senate;


(iv) A-Level (GCE), The Australian Matriculation (SAM), Canadian Pre University (CPU) or its equivalent;


(v) Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least grade B in 5 subjects;


(vi) other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysian Government

Career Prospect
Graduates may be versatile to synthesize their knowledge and confidently enter into a wide spectrum of pharmaceutical sectors including community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, government agencies (The Ministry of Health) or pharmaceutical engineering industries. Graduates may fill up position as Pharmacist, Healthcare Consultant, Medical Research Scientist, Toxicologist, Regulatory Affairs Officer, Pharmacologist, Academician, Clinical Research Associate, Product/Process Development Scientist, Pharmacy Executive, Assistant Pharmacist or Retail Pharmacist.

Other Information
Graduates who wish to take up employment as pharmacists must complete a programme with any training providers certified under the supervision of Pharmacy Board of Malaysia to be qualified as Malaysian registered pharmacist.
