Bachelor in Creative Multimedia (Hons)

Introduction:

The Bachelor in Creative Multimedia (Hons) (BCM) is an undergraduate academic program that specialises in the design of multimedia content. Students will deal with the integrated collections of computer based media including (but not limited to) text, graphics, sound, animation, photo images and video. This means this course is more towards ‘multimedia computing’ or ‘interactive multimedia.’

The main purpose of this course is to produce multimedia designer or multimedia programmer. This course can provide the graduates with the professional skills and knowledge in producing and developing creative multimedia content for online and offline applications. Students will be equipped with strong knowledge in authoring process and creative media production. This course is a combination between the technology of content development and multimedia programming. In this programme science and art were combined to give strengths for the multimedia content production. The integration of multimedia content with the aspects of information and communication technology can make students not just capable of producing the content but also the technology of interactive features.

The BCM conducted over the period of three-years on a semester basis (six long and three short semesters), where students will major in interactive media field. An important feature of this course is the emphasis on practical problem solving in multidiscipline using current and emerging technologies. Furthermore, there are lots of opportunities for multimedia producers. The area of the greatest opportunities right now is with publishing, broadcasting and educational content development.
