Bachelor in Computer Science (Hons)
Introduction:
Bachelor in Computer Science (Hons) is designed to equip the students with the fundamentals of computing particularly in the area of Information & Communication Technology (lCT). This course consists of 3 specializations, namely; Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Computer Networking.
Objective:
To prepare the students in meeting the multitude of challenges that confronts the fast-paced Information Technology business arena.
Career Prospect:
Graduates are able to seek employment as Software Engineers, Information Technology Executives, System Analysts, System and Methods Executives, Software Project Managers, Software Testers, Software Maintenance Staff and Information Managers.
Entry Requirements:
- Minimum requirement (STPM candidates):
- Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
Candidates will have to pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination or equivalent with credits in Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Melayu (Syllabus X) / Bahasa Malaysia II
AND
- Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent
Candidates will have to pass Sijil Tinggi Peperiksaan Malaysia (STPM) examination with at least:
- Pass with C grade in 3 subjects including General Studies paper OR
- Pass with C grade in 2 subjects including General Studies, and another 2 subjects with D grade OR
- Malaysian Ministry of Education's Matriculation Certificate or MSU foundation or equivalent qualification from other institutions approved by Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and accredited by Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA);
OR
- Minimum passes 3 subjects of A 'Level' (GCE)
OR
- Minimum 65-70% score for The South Australian Matriculation (SAM)
OR
- Minimum 80% score for Canadian Pre-University Program (CPU)
OR
- Diploma in related fields from PTPL/ MSU or Diploma/Certificate in related fields from Polytechnics, IPTA or accredited IPTS or other institutions recognized by Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
Course Content:
This course consists of the (school) subjects and core (programme/majoring) subjects and compulsory (university) subjects. The total credits for compulsory subjects are 24 units, core (school) subjects are 30 units and the core (programme/majoring) subjects are 66 units, with an overall total of 120 units in order for the students to graduate.
