The content and competencies of this program enable student to fulfil the industry needs with media and management skills. Student will develop a strong foundation in group media processes, project management and technical skills using state-of-the art technology, along with core skills in the disciplines and technologies used to design, develop and manage information systems, products and services.
Students will hone these skills on practical projects for external clients, giving them firsthand experience in developing the knowledge, attributes and attitudes that are required to succeed within the industry.

Introduction to Information Technology
This course introduces basic computer concepts, computer hardware, operating system and its software application. Students also will be exposed to computer networking, computer ethics, and system analysis and design and computer crime issues.
Introduction to Mass Media
This course will introduce the students to the different types of mass media through the study of each media system. They will also learn the function of each media in delivering different kinds of news and knowledge to people. In order to create the media content accordingly, there are code of ethics involve in using and preparing media contents. Finally the students will be able to recognize the positive and negative effects of mass media to individual and society.
Media Law
Media law is a very broad body of law that incorporates elements of copyright and trademark law, contract law, labour law, defamation and privacy law. The course introduces students to the major legal, ethical and policy issues related to the media. Major issues include censorship, ownership regulation, remedies for people in the news, the right to receive and send communication in the media, and whether there is a news media privilege. The course examines how the courts have responded to legislative and executive lawmaking to communication in the media. Students will become familiar with the workings of the judicial system, including its structure and procedures.
Media Culture
Culture is looked upon as an arena of "struggle" between social forces concerned where messages transmitted via mass media would bring meanings and images of significance at the national as well as international levels. This course introduces students with the core theoretical approaches to the study of media culture. It provides students with an historical and critical overview of theory and research on communication, everyday social practices, systems of representation, and media environments. Students will do discussions of some of the most popular and influential forms of media culture. Criticizing social context, political struggle, and the system of cultural production.
Media Analysis
This course provides an overview of the methods and tools used for media analysis. Both theoretical perspectives and practical methods will be covered. Specifically, the semiotic, sociological, social psychological and philosophical techniques of media analysis will be offered. The course will conclude with a practical application of these techniques.
Copywriting
In this course students will discover how to write an effective copy for all types of electronic media. Many writing assignments and examples of actual scripts, storyboards, PSAs, and promotional spots will be use for the students to prepare to write short, persuasive messages in a variety of venues (radio, television, new media, etc.). Students will learns about copywriting style, consumer behavior and legal and ethical aspects of copywriting that helps students build the understanding and skills needed for a career in this media field.
Public Relation
This course is aim to develop the ability to analyze and critique a range of public relations concepts, models and theories. Discussions will center on contemporary public relations practices; principles of public relations; basic research both formal and informal; target population or audience analysis and proposed plans for actions. As part of the course requirement, students will be asked to examine several local case studies and to propose an effective public relations campaign.
Web Design
This course is designed to provide the necessary skills and training for the student in the field of web design. This course focuses on web page planning, basic design, layout and construction, and setup and maintenance of a web site. Few programming and various other web page and image creation tools are taught in the course.
2D Animation
This subject is designed to explain about all the different aspects and types of animation, to act as a catalyst to stimulate student to try different things and to make a career out of student talents. Animation is the art of capturing a series of individual movements, and replaying them in rapid succession to give the illusion of movement. It can be achieved using images drawn on a cel, paper or using computer-generated images.
Digital Video Production
In this course students will learn how production proceeds in the digital age from idea to image and how it moves through the three major phases, from preproduction, production to postproduction. In this context, student will learn about the necessary tools, examine what they can and cannot do, and explore how they are used to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The course covers concepts and techniques in video production, from the initial preproduction scripts and storyboards through actual shooting to nonlinear editing, mastering and output. Student also learns the latest digital equipment and production techniques, including HDV and HDTV. Throughout this course, students will demonstrate mastery of the key learning objectives by recording, capturing and editing their own videos.
Sound Design
This course provides students with an introduction to the basic techniques, principles and tool needed for audio production in media. Students will learn the fundamentals of audio and acoustics that impact every stage of the music recording process. This course will introduce the informational, perceptual, and aesthetic aspects of sound as they apply to each stage of the production process-- from planning to post-production.
Interactive Media
This subject covers the technology and the tools and practices in interactive design; which includes the creation of site maps and flow charts; and the writing of design documents. It examines the latest interactive features, as well as the newest techniques and technologies for other forms of digital presentation. New design templates, 3D graphics and animation, distance learning, html, and intranet learning games are among the topics covered in this subject. Examples and case studies demonstrate the broad range of applications such as websites, CD-ROM games, and web commerce sites.
Media Production
In this course students will study the many different theory and skill such as storyboard, cost, treatment, content, audio, motion design, visual composition, etc. By isolating and analyzing each of these design elements (or fields), student will see the success of any production ultimately depends upon careful preproduction planning (conceptual & aesthetic understanding), painstaking production techniques, and meticulous post-production assembly of all the images, motion and audio/visual elements into one final product. Towards this end, students will learn how to make form and content work together.
Media Research
Research is central to all media analysis and projects. This course aims to bring together the theoretical and practical elements of research in the media. Students will be exposed to different theoretical paradigms of media research, analysis of competing frameworks for defining the media as object of study, and to debate on issues such as research ethics, intellectual property and cultural sensitivity, among others. Students will be exposed to various research methodologies as they affect the changing media landscape and its evaluation. The course will also explore research design techniques and look at various styles of referencing, interview techniques, project proposals, execution and presentation.
Database System
This course covers topics such as history of database technology, introduction to database, database management system (DBMS), relational database technology, data model concept, database query (SQL), normalization and database design.
Digital Design Basics
The course is designed for students learning the basics of computer graphics. It integrates the instruction of digital imaging skills with design principles and art/design history. Students will learn the concept, theory, technique and design instruction in digital design. This subject introduces students to essential software techniques in Illustrator, Photoshop, and other raster and vector programs.
Journalism
This course introduces student to the journalism industry and world. They will be theoretically exposed to the journalism field. Student will be introduced to the various news writing techniques and mechanism. Focus will also be given to the profession and career in the journalism industry. The course also emphasizes reportorial writing, gathering of information and interview techniques for newspapers and magazines. They will learn the format and styles of writing used in publication. Students will also be trained in the methods of gathering information for news writing. Apart from writing news, students will also write news from speeches, press releases and meetings. It will help student to become a better thinker, and a wiser, more critical consumer of the media.
Introduction to Programming
This course introduces the students to problem solving and programming concepts. Students are also introduced to C++ programming, input and output format, operators and expression, control structure statements, functions and arrays (1 dimension and 2 dimensions) using C++ programming language.
Java Programming
This course introduces Java programming language in for the development of applications and applets. The course starts with the basic syntax of Java language, and the concepts of object-oriented programming. Students will learn to define own classes and create objects from these classes through constructors. Later in the course, students will use packages and classes in Java to write programs with proper GUI and event handling. Students will learn the characteristics of Java applets and write applets to perform similar functions in their earlier programs. Towards the end of the course, students will learn to use Java I/O streams to manipulate input and output of their applications. In addition to that, the use of multimedia elements in Java applications will be demonstrated. Lab exercises will be given throughout the lab sessions to strengthen the students' programming skill in Java.
Information Design
The course begins with an overview of information design and why the design provides unique challenges in communication. Students will learn the importance of the user experience and of user testing as well as methods of retrieving and using this information. In class exercise, students will assess specific user types and user tasks in different designs. Students will also learn how to identify information and client goals through wish lists, client dialog, competitor comparison, and the creative brief. This course offer visions of how information design can be practiced diligently and ethically, for the benefit of information consumers as well as producers. Its present various methods that seem to work, such as sense-making and way-finding.
Graphic Visualization
In this subject, students will do research on different types of graphic visualization and illustrations and also their techniques to train student in developing drawing skills, design a certain graphic product in preparation of making storyboard or sketching and designing a poster. Besides that, it introduces students the forms and fundamentals of graphic design and its elements in all visual communication. In this module, the students will understand drawing terms and the manual processes of rendering the visual in color. The students will also be introduced to techniques and technical skills of marker rendering, pastel and pencil.
Creative Photography
This course provides students with a broad base of theory and practice from which to develop student creative approach to the craft. The program covers the making and usage of the photographic image both as a statement in its own right, and as an integrated component of a wide range of other media. Terminology such as exposure, film, film speed, etc. will also be learned as the part of student skill.
Media Management
This course enables students to develop themselves as leaders for media business practices and to enhance one's self-awareness. In this course, students will become acquainted with media management and the challenges facing managers in a period of technological and social change.
Integrated Advertising and Marketing Communication
This course aims to explore the creative and aesthetic aspects of advertising design, develop students' ability of generating creative ideas, visualize their concept, solve problems with the knowledge of rational awareness, and think strategically to enhance the potency which is to be more memorable on the visual consciousness of the decoders.
Theory of Graphic Design
This course aims to provide students the basic knowledge integral to the field of graphic design; such as elements and principles of design; application to develop students' ability to generate creative ideas, and concept visualization. Students can apply with confident to solve their own design problems and develop hand skills as well as critical and visual thinking skills including web design, annual report, branding etc.
Communication Theory
This course provides a current and comprehensive discussion of influential theories in communication. It portrays the strengths and weaknesses of each theory. Communication Theories helps students see where these theories fit in the broad scheme of social inquiry. Generally guides students in the evaluation and critique of theories. Communication Theories also includes new or enhanced coverage of post colonialism, critical race theory, new generation social penetration theory, and mass media reception theory.
Digital 3D Design
Digital 3D Design tackles every aspect of this cutting-edge field. Students will take a look at 3D in the real world that cover the ways in which 3D graphics are used by designers working in advertising, industrial prototyping, art, and entertainment. Students will also learn how to think in 3D and learn how to simulate 3D with 2D tools. The content covers the 3D process from basic modeling, through surfacing and lighting, to rendering and animation. Students can create more effective 3D graphics.
