Diploma in Computer Engineering

Introduction:

Computer Engineering is a specialized field of electronic engineering that uses electronic and computing technology to design computer system and peripherals for the office, factory and home. This course provide students with a specialized knowledge and practical skills in computer system's hardware and software. They will learn to design microprocessor-based system and a good foundation in computer communications and computer architecture. The will also be skilled in Java programming and internet application.

Objective:

The course is designed to equip students with skills in electronic computer fundamentals, problem solving.Career Prospect Graduate are able to seek employment as Programmer, Network Support Executive, System Support Executive and Assistant System Engineer.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Certificate In Business Management PTPL with a pass in all subjects

    OR

  2. Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with:
    1. 3 honours (credit) in any subjects

      OR

  3. Certificate from Polytechnic, Public Institute Of Higher Learning (IPTA) and other qualification recognized by MSU senate.

Course Content:

This course consists of compulsory subjects (university and core subjects). The total credits for the compulsory subjects are 21 units and compulsory subjects are 69 units with an overall total of 90 units in order for students to graduate.

The subject are Introduction to Information Technology, Introduction to Programming, Discrete Mathematics, Introduction to Multimedia, Statistics and Probabilities, Computer Organization, Electronic, Data Structure and Algorithm, Data Communication and Network, Signal and System, Microprocessor, Communication System. Device and Circuits, Fundamental of Al, Digital Logic Design, Artificial Intelligent, Engineering, Mathematics 1, Introduction to Electromagnetic, and Numerical Method.
