Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Introduction:

The Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering in MSU is aimed at leading students to be well prepared either as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer or in a chosen field of a degree programme. With a strong basic skills and foundation acquired in MSU, students will be able to confidently utilize their skills in real situation. This course is structured to enable students to work theoretically and practically. Students will definitely find it interesting as the laboratories are well equipped to meet the needs of the students.

Objective:

The demand for electronics expertise is very high and these potential leaders must able to work in multi-disciplinary teams in an engineering profession. Students may gain employment in telecommunication firms, companies that manufacture electronic equipment and research institutes as Electronics Engineer. Entry Requirements:

1. Certificate In Business Management PTPL with a pass in all subjects
   
   OR
   
   
2. Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with:
   1. 3 honours (credit) in any subjects
      
      OR
      
      
3. Certificate from Polytechnic, Public Institute Of Higher Learning (IPTA) and other qualification recognized by MSU senate.
   

Course Content:

This course is divided into core and compulsory subjects. The total credits for the compulsory subjects are 83 credits and compulsory subjects are 9 credits bringing a total of 92 credits in order for students to graduate. In the first academic year, students will be exposed to introductory subjects such as Electrical Science, Electronic, Engineering Laboratory, Introduction to Programming and etc. Later in year 2, the students will learn subjects like Power System, Analogue Electronic, Communication System, Electrical Wiring & Troubleshooting and etc.
