Diploma in Pharmacy
Introduction
Diploma in Pharmacy programme is a programme for the training of Pharmacy Assistant (formerly known as Dispensers). Subjects taught include Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Drug Therapy, Computer application and other related subjects. These subjects are taught in the first and second years of the course. Students are required to undergo clinical posting to gain work experience both in the government and private hospitals in the third (final) year of the course.

Core Subjects Descriptions
Anatomy
Study of the anatomical structural of human body covering various systems such as the Reproductive system, central nervous systems, etc.
Physiology
Study of the physiological processes including respiratory, endocrinology, reproductive, cardiovascular and central and peripheral nervous systems.
Pharmacy Practice
Students will be taught on dispensing of drugs including preparation, diluting doses, labeling and management of drugs.
Drug therapy
Students will be introduced with different classes of drugs, detailed description of drugs and their doses, side effects and their interactions.
Pharmacology
Study of the pharmacology of various different physiological systems, modes of administration, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic of drugs.
Introduction to pharmacy
Student will be exposed to Malaysian law on dispensing drugs, preparing reporting, interpretation of prescription, pharmacy management and communication.
Entry Requirement
Minimum entry qualification:
SPM with 5 credits including Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, one Science Subject and two other subjects.

Certificate from IPTA or IPTS recognized by MQA
