To all our new students, welcome to Management and Science University (MSU)! We know, it may feel like a whole new universe when you start university (P.S.: no clickers here). Rather of fending off zombies like “The Last of Us” characters, you will be interacting with students from all over the world, learning about exciting prospects, and figuring out how to fit in with our lively campus culture. Hey, let’s read the article to find out more about the orientation!

Led by the MSU Facilitators from the Student & Career Development (SCD), the orientation here at MSU lasts for at least a week maximum. Depending on the size of the students, we organise our orientation week at either Performing Arts Theatre (PAT) or Chancellor Hall. No worries; we assure you that our locations for orientation are spacious and conducive for you and other students.

Upon your arrival to the MSU Orientation Week, you will receive welcoming remarks from Dato’ Rosli Yusof, the Senior Vice President of Endowment and Communication of MSU Malaysia, as well as the facilitators from SCD. Through the orientation, students are going to attend talks from multiple segments, such as eKlas, finance, counselling and introductions to mentorship from your individual faculties.

Yawn… Are all the continuous talks making you feel sleepy? You could almost feel as though you're being lulled into a post-apocalyptic daze by the cool air conditioning gusts flowing through the hall — again, minus the clickers. But, hey, you do not have to battle fungal zombies to stay awake. We actually do have games and mini activities to keep your mind in survival mode and your energy levels high in between sessions.

During orientation, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the UN (United Nations) are also introduced as one of MSU's core values. Absolutely, we think that sustainability can be as thrilling as any end-of-the-world series, except that you get to save the world before you graduate.

Engagement Day is among the week's most exciting events. Along with booth exhibitions, the Club & Association membership drive and showcase is a prominent highlight too. Numerous clubs with distinctive offerings and activities will be available for you to join—yes, you can join more than one if you like. Plus, there are also faculty-versus-faculty mini games to amp your competitive spirit.

To sum up, MSU Orientation Week provides an exciting and dynamic beginning to your academic journey. With captivating talks, thrilling events, and a focus on sustainability and community, the orientation is intended to assist you with settling in, creating enduring friendships, and comprehending what it means to be a true MSUrian. Just remember, you are not alone as you embark on this adventure.
