Management and Science University (MSU) recently held a vibrant Eid al-Fitr open house on 25th April, bringing together its alumni for a heartfelt celebration of unity, tradition, and shared memories. Amidst the festive cheer, we caught up with several alumni who reflected on their time at MSU and shared words of wisdom for the next generation. Here’s what they had to say.
Wan Nur Asmanie Wan Jaafar
Bachelor in Computer Science (Hons) | Class of 2004
"I’m truly happy to be back, reconnecting with old friends and lecturers. It brings back so many cherished memories. MSU has grown tremendously over the years, and I’m proud to be among its early graduates.
To current students, my advice is simple: study smart, choose a course that matches your capabilities and interests, and focus on mastering the core knowledge needed for success. At the same time, enjoy your student life—it’s a journey worth remembering."
John Tiong
Bachelor in Computer Science (Hons) | Class of 2004
"Back in our day, we studied in a shop lot. Now, MSU has its own impressive campus—an incredible transformation.
MSU taught me the importance of building relationships. The friendships and networks I formed here played a big role in shaping my career. My advice to students? Focus on your studies but also develop strong interpersonal skills. Build lasting connections because they’ll support you well beyond graduation."
Saeed Hasan Aljawli
Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism Management (Hons) | Class of 2021 | Currently residing in Malaysia
"MSU is my second home. I’ve made lifelong friends and found a supportive environment, especially as an international student.
Over the past two years, MSU has grown significantly—its facilities, academic offerings, and global rankings have reached new heights. For international students, it’s the perfect place to grow, learn, and explore new cultures.
My advice? Stay hopeful and patient. Don’t expect instant success. Take things step by step. University equips you with tools, but it’s up to you to shape your future."
Nur Sabrina Azman
Bachelor in Accountancy (Honours) | Class of 2022
"It feels wonderful to return to MSU for this Raya celebration. I came back to reconnect with friends and relive the memories we created here. It’s always heartwarming to return to a place that holds so much meaning.
As a student, I loved participating in campus activities. At MSU, opportunities for involvement are everywhere—not just for merit points, but for personal growth.
My advice? Learn and experience as much as you can. What you gain today—whether in class or through extracurricular activities—will be invaluable when you step into the working world. And remember, MSU is more than just a university. You’ll build friendships, gain skills, and create memories that last a lifetime."
Abdul Adzin Hariz Ab Rahman
Diploma in Management | Class of 2021
"Coming back to MSU was a nostalgic experience. Walking through the familiar halls where I studied and sat for exams brought back memories of simpler times when life revolved around classes and outings with friends. The Raya gathering was a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and lecturers.
Focus on your studies now. Don’t delay the learning process. Make the most of your student years because they pass by faster than you think. Critical thinking is essential, especially during internships and in real-world scenarios. A solid educational foundation prepares you to face challenges with confidence.
Muhamad Azrul Azman
Bachelor’s in International Business | Class of 2013
Returning to MSU for the Raya celebration was an emotional experience. Walking through the campus brought back so many memories, and I was deeply touched to meet the staff who supported me through my journey, they are my personal heroes.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned was to find your 'why.' For me, it was my family. Keeping my CGPA above 3.75 to maintain my scholarship was challenging, but I stayed motivated. I even fought for an internship with BMW in Bulgaria. It was tough but incredibly rewarding, preparing me for real-world challenges.
Work hard now; the fun can come later. Your career might take unexpected turns, but the discipline and values you build at MSU will serve you well. Stay adaptable, keep learning, and always think one step ahead."
Nurshakila Ismail
Bachelor in Education – TESL (Hons) | Class of 2015
It was incredibly emotional to reunite with my former lecturers. The guidance they gave me still influences my work today, even though I’m no longer in teaching.
I have a deep love for MSU because I grew up with it back when it was still known as KUTPM. Watching it grow over the years feels personal like we matured together.
One of my happiest memories was making it to the Dean’s List not just once, but multiple times. That achievement meant everything to me, and the support from my lecturers made it possible.
Be true to yourself. Not everyone will understand you, and that’s okay. One day, you’ll find where you truly belong and when you do, everything will fall into place."
