Education is the best mobility factor transforming lives, enriching future. Hand-in-hand with Management and Science University (MSU) making an investment for the nation while ensuring no one is left behind is Malaysia’s Public Service Department (PSD).
On campus at MSU recently, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) was led in the meet-and-greet with B40 scholars by its Director General Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman. Welcoming the delegation was Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.
“Investment in education insures the future of a nation, and private-public collaboration is a great driver for the economy. MSU is honoured to be working with the Government, building the next generation of human capital,” opened the MSU President.
The scholars, from MSU’s Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) and School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), were reminded of their responsibilities.
“MSU is among the country’s top forty percent of private universities with JPA scholars. For every student sponsored, academic achievement is the return of investment. Work hard, maintain excellent results, and respect your lecturers. Abide by the University rules and regulations, and uphold honesty as well as integrity. And remember that you belong to the people. Be ready to serve when you graduate,” remarked Tan Sri Adib.
Professor Tan Sri Dr Shukri also highlighted the fact that constant changes in the world today command the resiliency, adaptability, and agility crucial to remaining employable in the job market.
“Which is why we build our graduates to be not only employable but also entrepreneurial; equipped to be both job seekers and job creators,” he said.
Management and Science University is the 2016 recipient of the Ministry of Education Malaysia Entrepreneurship Award (MEA) as the country’s Most Entrepreneurial Private University.
With close to ninety-nine percent of its graduates securing employment within six months of graduation, MSU is also the top-ranked university for graduate employability, as traced in a study by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
Along with indigenous people, orphans, and the elderly, the urban poor comprises another focus group of the University.
Community engagement activities and scholarships offered by Management and Science University (MSU) are funded by the MSU Foundation, also known as Yayasan MSU or YM.
The PSD visit concluded with tours of MSU’s student accommodation The Residence and the adjacent MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC) Private Specialist Hospital.
