Management and Science University (MSU) sister campus Jakarta Global University (JGU) celebrated turning 50 this year with the latter’s 25th convocation ceremony.

 

Held at the Depok main campus in Jakarta, Indonesia, the celebration had MSU president and Yayasan MSU Global founder Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid in attendance.

 

The 25th convocation ceremony at JGU saw 188 receiving their degrees; 56 in Machine Technology/Engineering, 36 in Civil Engineering, 32 in Electronic Engineering, 21 in Information Technology/Engineering, 25 in Management, 10 in Pharmacy, and 8 a Master of Electrical Engineering.

 

The best students at Convo-25 of JGU received the Yayasan Platinum Award, the Rector Gold Award, the Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award, the Industry Award, and the Employability Award.

 

 

JGU had started out as Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Jakarta (STTJ) in 1972 before the upgrade to Institut Teknologi dan Kesehatan Jakarta (ITKJ) in 2019 and to Jakarta Global University (JGU) on July 8 the next year. It began operating at the Depok main campus on December 1, 2020; with Campus A at Jatiwaringin, and Campus B at Cibitung.

 

The 50th anniversary celebration also had Professor Tan Sri Dr Shukri officiating a 5km Green Walk around the JGU Depok campus.
