Management and Science University (MSU) through its School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) recently organized a heritage-appreciation outing to Klang.

 

Over ninety students and staff of MSU’s Event Management programmes were on the organizing committee of the Royal Klang Town Heritage Walk (RKTHW), which attracted a thousand and three hundred participants comprising thirty-two groups.

 

 

With eleven stops along the 2.8km route which took two hours to complete, the outing raised awareness of Klang’s abundant heritage while strengthening bonding between SHCA mentors and mentees.  

 

RKTHW’s start-off ceremony was officiated by MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid at the Sultan Suleiman Stadium field.

 

 

RKTHW also aimed to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 for Good Health and Wellbeing, 4 for Quality Education, 11 for Sustainable Cities and Communities, and 17 for Partnerships.

 

Collaborators facilitating the walk were Tourism Selangor, who hosted all the eleven checkpoints, and Klang Municipal Council (MPK).

 

 

In attendance were MPK Secretary Mrs Elya Marini Darmin and Tourism Selangor General Manager Mr Azrul Shah Mohamad.
