The Bachelor of Product Design (Honours) programme at Management and Science University (MSU) prepares students to become innovative and industry-ready product designers capable of merging creativity, technology, and sustainability. This programme focuses on design thinking, materials exploration, ergonomics, manufacturing processes, and user-centered innovation. Students will learn how to transform ideas into tangible products that meet functional, aesthetic, and market needs.
Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on studio practice, students will engage in concept development, 3D modelling, rapid prototyping, and material experimentation using modern design tools and digital fabrication technologies. The curriculum emphasizes sustainable design principles, encouraging environmentally responsible and socially conscious solutions.
Collaborative projects with industry partners and exposure to real-world design challenges will enhance students’ problem-solving, entrepreneurial, and presentation skills. Supported by experienced academic mentors and design practitioners, students will graduate with a strong portfolio and professional confidence to thrive in the global product design landscape.
A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent; OR
● A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, or its equivalent; OR
● A Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent; OR
● A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent; OR
● A pass in Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM)
in suitable fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to Senate / Academic Board’s approval (Note: The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme); OR
● ApassinDKM/DLKM/DVMwithaminimum CGPA of 2.00 and at least have two (2) years working experience in a related discipline; OR
● Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
AND
● Pass an interview OR submission of portfolio determined by the HEP as required.
