Information Literacy: User Education Program
User Education Program is a guidance and education services program for library user. The aim of this program is to build skills in assessing a variety of materials and information sources and also to guide user towards using materials and services. The program provides user with an introduction to information resources both within library and beyond. The objective of this program is to expose user on how they can use library facilities, organization, resources, and services. 
 
There are four modules under this program:
  • Module 1: Searching Technique
  • Module 2: Evaluate Information
  • Module 3: Research Guide and SPSS
  • Module 4: Mendeley
Overview Of The Modules 

MODULE 1: SEARCHING TECHNIQUE

OVERVIEW :
Information is a powerful and an essential ingredient in decision-making. In order to obtain timely, relevant and quality information for your study or research work, you need to know the various sources of information available. This module will explain to you various sources of information that is reliable for your research or assignment. At the end of the class, students are expected to be able to find information through library online database and reliable search engine.
MODULE 2: EVALUATE INFORMATION

OVERVIEW :
As a student you are tend to create genuine information for your research. In order to acquire the right information at the right time, and for the right purpose, there are a few criteria should be considered. That information must be reliable and accurate. This module will assist you on how to evaluate information based on 5 relevant criteria.
MODULE 3: RESEARCH GUIDE AND SPSS

OVERVIEW :

Overview of Research guide:
This module enables student to learn basic guide on writing research paper. This guideline is adopted from Manual Publication of The American Psychological Association (6th edition). It gives step-by-step advice on writing papers, from a format of writing to submitting the completed paper. 

Overview of SPSS:
SPSS enable researchers to obtain valuable information from the data. This workshop intends to assist users in basic technique and SPSS data entry and produce various descriptive statistics and graphs.

Through “hands-on” sessions, participants should:
  • Be able to create temples for data entry in SPSS
  • Be able to enter and manipulate data in SPSS
  • Be able to produce various descriptive statistics and graphs.
MODULE 4: MENDELEY

OVERVIEW :
Mendeley is a desktop and web program for managing and sharing research papers, discovering research data and collaborating online. Mendeley helps student to:
  1. Import citation style from thousand of journals
  2. Create bibliography instantly
  3. Flexible formatting
  4. Collaborate with others
