President’s Advisory


UPDATED GUIDELINES ON MANAGING COVID-19

Management & Science University (MSU) is closely monitoring developments concerning the Covid-19 situation and taking precautionary measures to ensure priority safety and wellbeing of its students, staff and visitors.

With the recent Government’s announcement of Movement Control Order (MCO) for several states, including Selangor, MSU is tightening the SOPs and guidelines to ensure a safe campus environment for all and no disruption to the working premise.

The guidelines below, on health and campus SOPs, are to be strictly followed with immediate effect.

A. COMPLIANCE AT THE ENTRANCE & EXIT OF CAMPUS
  1. Security on campus movements shall assume utmost importance.

  2. Staff must use the designated entry points set by the Management (kindly refer to the previous advisory here: https://msu.edu.my/gradual-re-opening-msu-campus-3rd-phase)

  3. All entering the campus must:
      a) Scan the QR code on the MySejahtera app
      b) Check body temperature (on the forehead, as advised by the MOH)
      c) Be honest in the declaration of health conditions.
B. POLICIES AND GUIDELINES
Compulsory measures on health & safety include:

  1. Declaration of health status – vital
    Please cooperate by being honest with your health condition; if you have a fever, you must:
      a) Not come to the campus, whether for official or non-official tasks;
      b) Report your health condition to your immediate for further advice to be given;
      c) Adhere to immediate instructions by the Management, which may include:
        a) undergoing the Covid-19 screening when advised;
        b) self-quarantining up to 10 days.

  2. Temperature check
    Checks are done upon entry into campus, frequented outlets/office areas/ faculties/schools/departments.

  3. Hand sanitation
    Although sanitizers are provided at the designated entrances, do bring your own as well for your own use. Please sanitize or wash your hands frequently and observe personal hygiene at all times.

  4. Nose and mouth cover Face mask is COMPULSORY WEAR when in public areas, and crowded areas should be avoided.

  5. Physical distancing (PD) Always maintain the minimum 1-metre physical distancing (PD).
    • Always observe PD when in classrooms, lecture theaters, etc.;
    • Adhere to the paths designated to ensure crowding is minimized;
    • Queue properly at the lifts and observe the maximum number allowed per lift every time.

  6. Access to the buildings
      a. Staff and only staff are allowed entrance via the Management Tower.
      b. Staff must always have their Staff ID on for easy identification and access to the Management Tower and classrooms.

  7. Visitors
      a. All visitors are to enter via the U-Square entrance.
      b. Visitors coming in for official tasks MUST be assisted by staff/faculty members for access to the Management Tower. Requests must be made to the Campus & Infrastructure Department (CID) and approved by the Management pre-entry.
      c. Visitors can also organize to meet at the common areas on Level 2 and U-Plaza.

  8. Disclaimer
    MSU has the rights to refuse access to anyone who may have violated the guidelines. Actions may be taken against you if the SOPs are not adhered to.

C. ACADEMIC
  1. The academic calendar shall remain as scheduled.

  2. MSU will fully utilize the following mode of teaching and learning:
      a) 2.1 Blended – combining face-to-face with online;
      b) 2.2 Fully online.

  3. For students who are interstate or overseas, the university will provide online teaching and accommodate postponed face-to-face activities wherever possible.

  4. Students are also encouraged to be in constant contact with the faculties/schools through the University’s mentoring system to ensure accurate information is always obtained.

  5. Student admission/re-admission for 2021 shall be subject to MSU Senate’s approval and adhere to the guide provided by JPT’s Advisory Note JPT/GS 1000-519 Jld 7(2) dated 6th January 2021 and the media release by MOHE via : https://twitter.com/MOHEOfficial/status/1348916182431059970 dated 12 January 2021.

  7. Internship, work-based learning, or industrial training shall use the blended approach to ensure meeting the target learning experiences. There will be more industry-based projects, problem-based projects, topical studies and research, or case studies.

  8. To ensure observance of our quality standard, continuous assessments and systematic monitoring will continue through internal quality assurance at the University.
D. OTHERS
  1. Amenities and outlets, i.e., The Hub, Starbucks, Subway, Gloria Jean, are all registered with MySejahtera. You are thus advised to adhere to the SOPs accordingly.

  2. Students at The Residence are also reminded to adhere to the set guidelines and SOPs.

MSU’s response towards this pandemic continues to be shaped by the latest advice by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the relevant health authorities.

The University shall be keeping abreast with new developments as they occur throughout the year and respond accordingly to circumstances or governmental requirements. May we all have the patience and the flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of such changes.
