HeARTS@MSU 2021 Virtual Edition


As the University of Choice, Management & Science University (MSU) is fully committed to the society and its communities. As a result, during the month of June 2021, a total of 116 students from Event Management subject together with 487 students from Event Practices, Seminar in Tourism and Project Management students, acted as co-organizers and had run numerous programmes in conjunction with HeARTS@MSU 2021 Virtual Edition. The goal of this event is to have the committee work on an event in order to demonstrate their competence and competency as individuals as well as teamwork, in order to successfully execute the event. The major goal of this event is to improve students' event management skills.

The one-month virtual event focuses on fulfilling and meeting the objectives such as collaboration with industry through competitions and seminars as well as short course programs, and alumni activities.



Through its community engagement programme MyNeighbours, HeARTS aspires to deliver the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11 which is Sustainable Cities and Communities, by developing both community and collaboration. MyNeighbours, with the theme ‘Nurturing Generations, Building Society,' aims to improve the economic capability of the asnaf community through knowledge and skills. Basic Design for Business, Basic Sewing, Food Costing Guide, and a Baking Workshop are among the courses available for the urban community. MyNeighbours 2021 is a continuation of MyNeighbours 2019, involving the same families.


The 12th SHCA Colloquium Research, SHCA Entrepreneurial and Innovation Exhibition (ENVEX), an awareness session on online etiquette - Don't Be Mean Behind the Screen, and a short training on sign language were all part of HeARTS@MSU 2021. Moving on, Digital Tourism: The New Age of Smart Tourism, Emerging Trend: Touring Bikers, Growth as an Entrepreneur, and Alumni Sharing on Careers during COVID-19: Challenges and Changes were among the webinar topics.


Not only that, but HeARTS@MSU 2021 has its own set of competitions, with the MSU Youngchef Battlefield 2021, MSU Waiter Race 2021, Spa & Beauty Fest 4.0, and Modern Folk Music Arrangement being the most notable. Warisan Budaya Malaysia, Colours of Malaysia, Starstruck Dance, Heritage Dessert Styling, MSU Cyber Games, Dynamics Robotics, D.I.Y. Craft, and Craftastic Floral were among the other HeARTS@MSU 2021 competitions. On the other hand, Star Quest and The Art of Malay Culture both featured singing and dancing showcases.

SHCA students, MSU Colleges students, 15 alumnus, and 24 industry professionals took part in all of the following activities and programmes. Siasatan/Operasi Jenayah Harta Benda) IPK Selangor, Malaysia Cyber Consumer Association (MCCA), ASWARA, Telekom/TNB, Losra Velda Boutique, Tourism Selangor Sdn Bhd, Atlast One Event Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Inbound Tourism Association were among the organizations participated in HeARTS@MSU 2021.

The closing ceremony for HeARTS@MSU 2021 Virtual Edition was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Prof. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Abdul Yajid, President of Management & Science University, joined by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Rosli Yusof, Senior Vice President Endowment & Communication and Mr. Azizul Jamaludin, Dean School of Hospitality & Creative Arts. The ceremony was attended by all SHCA students, MSU colleges across the province, industry professionals, and MSU Alumni Association members. In addition, the HeARTS@MSU 2021 committee donated a total of RM20,000 to Yayasan MSU.

Dons Service, SAB Resources, Romroki, YY Gemilang Beach Chalet, Berg Sepakat, Mios Kitchen, Pekasam Taman Tasek, Dspex Trading, Kafe Kawan Sayatu, Diaz Teguh, and Naz Food Venture supported the virtual edition of HeARTS@MSU 2021.
