World Poetry Day is an occasion to honour poets, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals, promote the reading, writing and teaching of poetry! In conjunction with United Nation’s here’s “Escape” by our BTESL student, Lidiya Humaira.
She is just that ordinary girl,
you’ll find;
flooded with insecurities,
That stares at her own reflection
And thinks;
Whether will she ever be enough
And beautiful,
Bullets of people chattering
Dashes through unarmored ears,
Throbbing into her soul;
She could barely escape
Never let them drown you darling,
In the water of perfection,
Reveal those Crooked teeth,
Pitch dark skin and,
Never-ending scars
Because you gleam like stars,
Through the night sky
