Take a brain break.

MSU Learning Centre had successfully organized a program entitled Let's Talk: Take a Brain Break on 27 October 2021. Hosted by our own MSU Bachelor (Hons) in Counselling and Guidance trainee counselors, Miss Lavannia and Miss Ameera. The program was attended by MLC students and staff on Zoom Application. The new broad world is its midst

The program was organized to help assist the students and staff who might be burnt out with assignments, tasks, social interactions and have been experiencing some tough times due to the pandemic. The 50 minutes sharing session focused on the type of self-care needed and the priority in life.

Miss Lavannia emphasized the six types of self-care, which are mental, social, spiritual, emotional, practical, and physical self-care. All types of self-care are extremely important as it stimulates our intellect, deepens the relationship with people in our life and helps us connect, process and reflect on a full range of our emotions.

Meanwhile, Miss Ameera focused on the priority in life that consists of our personal life, work life, and student life. While you are setting priorities in life, it's important to maintain good relationships with family, friends, co-workers and your surroundings as it helps with our self-management which applies to how we convey ourselves, self-improvement and self-reflection on how it makes us feel. By knowing our priority and putting boundaries on certain things, we can have a healthy work life balance. You just need to keep practicing and improving your skills to build character and growth.

The program was more than just a sharing session, the host also gave the participants a self-care bingo and battery drainer quiz just before the Q&A session. Miss Lavannia and Miss Ameera also promoted career and personal counseling for those interested. The program ended with a closing remark from Pn Norlina Arshad, Director of MSU Learning Centre.
