Final-year project bags first prize at Medical Undergraduates’ Annual Scientific Research Meeting (MUASRM) by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)

Five students of Management and Science University (MSU) emerged First Winner for Best Research at the 10th Medical Undergraduates’ Annual Scientific Research Meeting (MUASRM), this November.

Afrina Ariff, Che Nur Azni Nazira Che Md Rozi, Noralaina Haji Yahya, Nor Atika Abdul Razak, and Nur Alya Syarafina Moh Salleh from MSU’s Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours) programme had submitted their final-year project titled The Efficacy of Piper Betel Extract as Natural Larvicides against Aedes Aegypti Larvae.

The award came with five hundred Ringgit worth of prizes including cash and a hamper.

Open to all medical schools in Malaysia, the Medical Undergraduates’ Annual Scientific Research Meeting (MUASRM) is organized by UKM’s Faculty of Medicine and held at the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM).

MSU recently hosted the 3rd edition of the Invention and Innovation Competition for Private Institutions of Higher Education (PERINTIS 2018), where 21 inventions and innovations out of the 49 bagging a medal came from the Health Sciences, Medical, Pharmaceutical category.

MSU’s International Medical School (IMS) Bangalore campus wears the distinction of being the first offshore medical school to be awarded a full-five-year accreditation by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
