1,700 places, 117 scholarships, 1.9mil Ringgit sponsorship from Management and Science University (MSU)

Management and Science University (MSU) has renewed its long-term partnership with local newspaper group the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) (Malaysia) Berhad for the 20th year running.

Marking the 2018 renewal since the collaboration began in 1998 is a 1.9-million-Ringgit sponsorship of 1,700 places on the Berita Harian (BH) Skor Seminar and 117 MSU-BH scholarships.

This year, the MSU-sponsored BH Skor Seminar is set to help exam-sitting candidates of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in Kemaman, Terengganu; Muar, Johor; Alor Gajah, Melaka; and also Grik and Tapah in Perak.

Since 2004, more than three hundred thousand SPM candidates have benefited.

“We view access to education as very important,” said MSU president, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid. “The MSU-BH scholarship may seem small in number, but we believe it may still bring about significant impact and that the contribution can enhance the quality of the nation’s education.”

Echoing the MSU President in his acceptance of the MSU sponsorship was NSTP Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil Hamid.

“The MSU sponsorship is enabling more educational programmes and raising the excellence level; a fine example of a corporate initiative helping our country build its future human capital.”
