About the Course

Our Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) programme offers a comprehensive education designed to produce skilled, compassionate, and ethical dental professionals. The curriculum combines rigorous academic coursework with extensive hands-on clinical training. Students will gain a deep understanding of the biological sciences, dental anatomy, pathology, and pharmacology, along with the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques.

From the first year, students engage in pre-clinical practice, honing their skills in our state-of-the-art simulation labs. As they progress, they will treat real patients under the supervision of experienced faculty in our modern dental clinics. The programme emphasizes preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of oral diseases, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to promote oral health and wellness in diverse populations.

Our BDS programme also fosters critical thinking, research skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning through various seminars, workshops, and research projects. In the third year, students will have the choice of undergoing an elective attachment either with the dental specialists in public hospitals for specialty exposure or an attachment with private dental practitioners for entrepreneurship.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Qualifications for Entry into a Dental Programme

A.    The selection for admission to a dental programme implies selection for the dental profession.

Any failure to declare information that has a material influence on a student’s fitness to practise may lead to termination of their dental course, as honesty, integrity and good health are essential attributes of a dental practitioner and by extension, the dental student.

In the event of any doubt, the dental school shall seek clarification from the Council.

C.    A high level of academic attainment is expected.

Public Health Dentistry
Graduates can also pursue careers in public health dentistry, focusing on improving community health through education, policy-making, and preventive care programmes. This path often involves working with government health departments, NGOs, and international health organizations.

Academic and Research
With a passion for teaching and research, BDS graduates can become academic professionals, contributing to dental education and advancing the field through innovative research. This career path typically involves working in dental schools, universities, and research institutions.
