Forging a new collaborative effort to establish co-operation in eyecare service, teaching, training, research and development, and talent development are the Management and Science University (MSU) and the Majlis Perbandaran Hulu Selangor (MPHS), also recognised as the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council. An official partnership has been sealed between MSU and MPHS through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).  

Signing the MoU were MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid and Yang Dipertua of MPHS, Tuan Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd.

 

 

On top of initiating collaborative effort projects related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDGs) involving No Poverty (Goal 1), Good Health and Well-Being (Goal 3), Quality Education (Goal 4) and Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17), the MoU between MSU-MPHS also seeks to establish an eyecare service to MPHS staff, vendors, and an affiliate for vision and eyecare, on training internship for students; developing collaboration research programmes, as well as a professional training programmes in ophthalmic care, vision, and eyecare; offering co-joint programmes leading to study in Diploma, Degree, Master, and PhD programmes at MSU in various programmes and modes available in MSU including TVET training; offering employment and industry embedded programmes to MSU students in the areas of interest of MSU and halal industries; training new talents; collaborating and facilitating the joint delivery of certification to benefit talent development; fostering international network and collaboration in areas of eye healthcare, educations and service; and other forms of co-operation which are to be arranged jointly by both parties to benefit commercially, publicity, and talent management.

 

 

The collaboration establishment was witnessed by Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Ghazali, Senior Vice President for Industry Linkages & Entrepreneurship; Associate Professor Dr. Sairah Abd Karim, Dean of Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS); Tuan Awaluddin Zakaria, Timbalan Yang Dipertua of MPHS; and Senior Management teams of MSU and MPHS.
