The School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) of Management and Science University (MSU) hosted its 17th edition of the Research Colloquium.

Carrying the theme of Inspiring Minds, Sharing Insights, the colloquium witnessed participation from a total of 228 students from the culinary, hospitality, tourism, and creative arts departments: 139 from Research Methods for Service Industry, 66 from Management Research for Service Industry, 4 from the Fashion Design Major Project, 6 from Music Technology Project 1, and 13 from Marketing Research subjects.

 

 

 

Bachelor in Culinary Arts (Hons) students Muhammad Firdaus Omar and Desmond Soh Jun Ming, for Regional Food Consumption Patterns and Trends in Shah Alam; Nabilah Abdul Razak and Rafiqin Liyana Razmin, for Recognition, Attitudes, and Preference of Traditional Fruits Intake Among Gen-Z in Shah Alam; and Amylia Afrina Batrisyia Mohd Azlan and Mardhiyyah Zahari, for Ethic Food Consumption Intention at the Touring Destination: A Malaysia Perspective Among Local Tourist in Selangor, received first, second, and third places, respectively, for the best presenter award from the culinary department.

Ariffah Nasuha Nasir and Nur Yasmin Wahida Mohamad Padzil from the Bachelor in Event Management (Hons) programme, for Instafamous Influence towards Attendees’ Participation – A Study of Cultural Festival in Kuala Lumpur; Aina Nadziha Baharuddin and Nur Sabrina Ahmad Zakuan from the Bachelor in Hospitality & Tourism Management (Hons) programme, for Heritage Tourism: The Effect of Heritage Brand in Tourist’s Satisfaction; and Tirtana Vaishnavi from the Bachelor in Airlines Services Management (Hons) programme, for Impact of National Culture on Flag Carrier Operation: Case of Malaysia, earned them first, second, and third places, respectively, from the hospitality & tourism department.

As for the creative arts department, grabbing the prizes are Nursarah Shazwani Sharifuddin from the Bachelor in Fashion Design with Marketing (Hons) programme, for Maritime Trades of Nusantara; Siti Maliyanah Hasnizam from the Bachelor in Fashion Design with Marketing (Hons) programme, for The Evolution of Peranakan Heritage; and Jesuvan Jeyaraj Paul from the Bachelor in Music Technology (Hons) programme, for Role of Individual Preparation in Enhancing Band Practice Sessions Between University Students and Freelance Musicians, for first, second, and third places, respectively, for the creative arts department.

The best presenters for the MSU Learning Centre are Nur Al-Hafizah Akhtar Mohd Zaid and Sukpriya Nilrat Ari from the Bachelor in Hospitality & Tourism Management programme, for The Impact of Ecotourism on Endemic toward Future Travel Intentions: Study on Kelantan Travellers.

Bagging the first, second, and third places for best research poster from the culinary department, respectively, are Ingrid Charlotte Anak Ignatius Melaka and Foo Fang Hui from the Bachelor in Culinary Arts (Hons) programme, for Destination Food Image on Behavioural Intentions: Culinary Tourism Behaviour in Melaka; Noor Amisya Syakira Bakhtiar, Sanjini Ramkumar, and Panashe Regita Chibondo from the Bachelor in Culinary Arts (Hons) programme, for Consumer Acceptance of Edibles Food Packaging; and Muhammad Aminuddin Iskandar Rosmi and Nur Shahizzah Suhanan from the Bachelor in Patisserie Arts (Hons) programme for Sustainability in Controlling Synthetic Colours Used in Pastry and Bakery Sector.
