Why do identical twins intrigue? It could be that in a world of unique individuals, for one person to look exactly like another is a jarring of the norm. Identical twins share the same gender, whereas fraternal twins may or may not and often look different from one another. Four pairs of identical twins graduated at the 31st Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU).

Among them were the Yong sisters Gong Yu and Gong Yi, respectively from the Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons) and the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) programmes at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS); both of whom graduated with First Class Honours and received the Academic Award at Convo-31.

Yong Gong Yu describes her MSU education as exceeding her expectations. The local student, whose name sounds like the lead in the Korean drama series Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, had found MSU by googling for top forensic programmes in Malaysia.

“The wide range of subjects offered on the Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons) programme allows you to not only grasp the fundamentals but also dive deep into the details in your search for truth. It contributes to holistic understanding and increases your future prospects in the field.”

Concurs Yong Gong Yi about her Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) programme, “Whilst the lab work and final-year project honed the hard skills, the emphasis on holistic personal development enhanced my people skills; making for a balanced, well-rounded education.”

From the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) came one half of a pair. Nur Farah Fatihah Azmi had actually received an offer to pursue architecture but preferred a private university.

“I love to design interior space,” she says, on her ultimate choice of Diploma in Interior Design at MSU. Her twin Nur Farah Raudah graduated with a Diploma in Fashion Design from MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA).

Also from SHCA came a pair who attended the same programme and half a pair who attended MSU’s Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP).

Darliena Syazlin and Darliena Syazreen Mohd Shaipul Bakhri both graduated with a Diploma in Patisserie Arts, whereas Nurul Afifah Amran graduated with a Diploma in Culinary Arts whilst her twin Nurul Afiqah Amran graduated with a Diploma in Human Capital Management.
