There is no new learning without diverse perspectives. Diversity in points of view advances knowledge by the collective personal as well as sociological biographies it presents. Comparative perspectives, be they historical of cultural, aid new understanding and expand possibilities. Providing both exposure and experience on campus at Management and Science University (MSU) is the MSU International Cultural Fest (MICF).
Part of the MSU International Music, Arts and Culture Convention (IMACC) launched by MSU president Professor Tan Sri Dato’ WIra Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, organized by Event Management students from the Bachelor and Diploma programmes at the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), MICF presented booths set up by three faculties and three schools of Management and Science University; the International Medical School (IMS) and the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) representing India and Myanmar, the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP) and the School of Pharmacy (SPH) representing Pakistan, as well as the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) and the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS) representing the Middle East.
Also participating were representatives of Bahrain, South and West Africa, East and North Africa, Kazakhstan, Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. Exhibitions by MSU’s International Students Society (ISS) showcased each country’s culture and cuisine.
At MSU, global exposure forms another facet to teaching and learning. Fostered by MSU’s Global Mobility (GMP), Global Leadership (GLP), and Global Internship (GIP) programmes, it is complemented off the classroom by MSU’s co-curricular experiences. Be they athletic or adventurous, community-engaging or healthcare-aiding, the lessons on diversity and inclusion continue to enrich at Management and Science University (MSU); home to passionate students and staff from 65 countries.
