Many aspire for a regal experience, one filled with opulent chandeliers, exquisite floral arrangements, and a colour palette of pastel blues and pinks that sets the perfect tone for a truly royal ambiance. Essentially, the allure of a royal ambiance lies in its capacity to whisk individuals away to a realm of beauty, opulence, and timeless elegance, affording them a tantalising glimpse into the extraordinary. Materialising the dream was the School of Pharmacy (SPH) of Management and Science University (MSU) through its annual dinner, which was themed after the popular Netflix series Bridgerton: Royalty for a Day.

MSU Pharmacy Club (MPhC) 2022/2023 of the SPH held the annual dinner at the Victoria Hall, Kamalinda Utropolis Marketplace, Shah Alam, with a total of one hundred and forty-five students, 49 from Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPH), 16 from Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology (BPHT), 28 from Diploma in Pharmacy (DPH), 48 from Bachelor in Traditional Chinese Medicine (BTCM), and four from Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) joining the event.

Constantly juggling behind never-ending professional chores can be daunting, and worst comes to worst, leading to burnout. Every job prioritises the utmost safety and well-being of humans, but it takes an additional effort to serve people on the frontlines. The vitality of keeping up with a sane mind and body is stressed considerably these days. In this context, the significance of an annual dinner becomes even more apparent and essential. The event provides a well-deserved break from the daily grind, allowing the students and staff alike to unwind, socialise, and let go of work-related stress.

Gracing the annual dinner was MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, in the presence of Dato’ Rosli Yusof, Senior Vice President Endowment & Communication; Professor Dr. Indang Ariati Ariffin, Vice President for Research & International Affairs; Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Fadli Mohd Asmani, Dean of SPH; Nik Nur Shamiha Nik Dzulkefli, Deputy Dean of Academic for SPH; Ibrahim Abdullah, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs for SPH; Associate Professor Dr. Sairah Abd Karim, Dean of Faculty of Health & Life Science (FHLS); and Associate Professor Dr. Norshafarina Shari, Dean of School of Graduate Studies (SGS)

In addition to the scrumptious feast, the faculty students presented a captivating array of performances that treated all attendees to a visual extravaganza, including Traditional Zapin Beradat Dance by Ahmad Hasif (BPHT), Nabil Luqman Abdul Latif (BPH), Altaf Syaqiq Sherulanuar (BHPT), Afiqah Azizan (BPH), Sabhah Zulaikha Mohammad Sahrul (BPH), and Faizah Nabila Kamaruddin (BPH); an enthralling violin instrumental of Laufey’s Let You Break My Heart Again by Akmal Farisan (DPH); and a soothing rendition of Jars of Heart by Christina Perri by Nurhidayah Uzam (DPH).

When students from the Henan University of Chinese Medicine (HUCM) also elegantly performed in choir and duet, it was a tremendous thrill. Xing Yufan, Zhang Xiangqin, Liu Tianxin, Hou Jiaxiao, Zhou Yixuan, Wang Zifeng, Wang Yifei, Duan Kexu, and Du Jiashen presented a choir named Star and the Sea, while Xing Yufan and Zhang Xiangqin sang a duet for the enchanting Accompany You to Wander.

A distinguished alumna of the school, Norhafizah Zulkarnine serenaded two timeless melodies together with her partner, the first being Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer, followed by the iconic I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith.

The night was not only for the dishes and dances but also for celebrating the extraordinary achievements of the students.
