Management and Science University (MSU) concluded Sukan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi (SUKIPT) 2022 with another gold medal, two more bronze medals, and a group win in the second phase of the annual sports meet for Malaysian higher education institutions.

 

The gold, brought in via Taekwondo in the Women’s Kyorugi 49-53kg category, was secured by Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons) student Lavinnia Subramaniam from the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP).

 

 

Taekwondo also brought in another bronze medal – the sixth for MSU from SUKIPT 2022 – via FBMP’s Bachelor in Marketing with Psychology (Hons) student Ruvindran David in the Men’s 58-63kg category.

 

 

MSU fielded five athletes in SUKIPT 2022 Taekwondo – three from FBMP and one each from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) and the International Medical School (IMS). Nur Farhatul Fathanah Zakirrudin from FBMP’s Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons) programme served as Team Manager.

 

The fifth bronze medal had been secured on Day 6 of SUKIPT 2022; by MSU College Shah Alam Certificate of Computer Science student Arun Nadarajah through 3,000m Steeplechase.

 

The rest of the Athletics team, which was coached by MSU scholar Mohd Syahidan Alias of the Bachelor in Education (Health and Physical Education) (Hons) programme, comprises another athlete from MSU College Shah Alam, one from the School of Pharmacy (SPH), two each from IMS and the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering (FISE), three each from the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) and the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS), four from FHLS, and five from FBMP. Nurul Hidayah Abdullah of Bachelor in Law and Commerce (Hons) and Ahmad Raquiem Tajuddin Fazikrilhakim of the Diploma in Human Capital Management programmes, both at FBMP, served as the team managers.

 

The group win was scored by MSU's Netball team, which fielded four players from FBMP, one each from SESS and FISE, and two each from FHLS, SPH, and SHCA.

 

 

They are; Afrena Tihani Kamarulzaman and Nurbatrisyia Afiqah Mazlan from the Bachelor in International Business (Hons) programme; Aleeya Aryana Syed Rusly of Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons); Khairun Najiha Khairuddin of Bachelor in Human Capital Management (Hons); Nur Hidayah Nasywa Mohd Azman of Bachelor in Psychology (Hons); Aimi Safiah Ahmad Fadzillah of Diploma in Information Technology; Nurul’Ain Nadhirah Mohamad of Bachelor in Cardiovascular Technology (Hons); Eshwinder Kaur Paramgit Singh of Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons); Rabiatul Adawiyah Hasbullah from Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology (Hons); Ayuni Syazwana Kamal Azmi of Diploma in Pharmacy; Syaza Riza Azmi of Bachelor in Culinary Arts (Hons); and Nur Syasya Najihah Mohd Nidzam of Diploma in Culinary Arts. Nur Hafidah Ismail from the Master in Science (by Research) Biomedicine programme at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) served as Assistant Coach.

 

Table Tennis had one player from IMS, two players from FBMP, and three players each from FHLS and SESS; whilst Chess had six players from IMS and one each from FBMP, FISE, and SESS – who also fielded the lone archer representing MSU in SUKIPT 2022 Archery.   

 

 

With the group win and three new medals from Phase 2, Management and Science University (MSU) finished in the Top 20 Overall of SUKIPT 2022.
