Management and Science University (MSU) held its fourth International Conference for Forensic Science, Forensic Medicine and Criminology (INFOMEC) this year.

 

Themed ‘Serving Justice Through Science: Challenges and Innovations’, INFOMEC 2023 had the chief executive officer and chief forensic consultant of Approved Group International Dr John Horswell as its keynote speaker. 

 

 

An international law enforcement and forensic science professional with over 46 years of experience in the fields of policing and forensic investigation, Dr Horswell, who holds master's degrees in Forensic Science, Public Management, and Fire Investigation, and is a Chartered Chemist as well as a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and a Fellow of the International Association of Fire Investigators, delivered his lecture 'Forensic Science for the Insurance Industry'.

 

Welcoming the keynote speaker on campus at the MSU Performing Arts Theatre (PAT) in Shah Alam Section 13 was MSU president Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Shukri Ab Yajid, who reiterated the role of universities in fronting the progression of knowledge.

 

 

Six winners were announced at INFOMEC 4.0; in first place for the Oral and Poster presentations respectively are Suvitraa Paramasivam of UKM and Anita Zara Weinheimer of MSU, whilst Professor Dr Sohayla M. Attalla and Nashvinder Kaur Jasivinder Singh, both of MSU, respectively took the second place in the Oral and Poster competitions. Angela Shalini Muneeswaran of C. S. Tang Adjuster Sdn Bhd and Syahira Zuhayra Zaimi of UiTM took the third place for their Oral and Poster presentations.

 

Other speakers at the fourth installment of the biennial International Conference for Forensic Science, Forensic Medicine and Criminology by Management and Science University (MSU) included Professor T Nataraja Moorthy, Datuk Dr Mohd Shah Mahmood, and Inspector Puan Siti Zulaikha Abu Bakar.
