Management and Science Institute (MSI) of Management and Science University (MSU) celebrates World Tourism Day 2023 with a tree-planting campaign in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

 

A hundred trees have been planted at Viharamahadevi Park – Colombo’s largest and oldest – by MSI’s Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism Management (Hons) students.

 

Officiating were MSU president Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid with MSU vice-chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.

 

 

The MSI-MSU Environmental Programme organized by MSI students and MSI alumni aims to deliver the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) 3 (for Good Health and Wellbeing), 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry Innovation and Infrastructure), 15 (Life on Land), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goal).

 

 

Since 1980, World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27 every year.
