Being the home for students hailing from 65 countries and diversified ethnic backgrounds, Management and Science University (MSU) draws attention to the significance of cultural competence in every realm of education it provides on campus. A shared dedication to advancing society’s well-being has been the cornerstone of the University’s success for the past 40 years, going beyond the confines of traditional classroom teaching and learning methods. 

Unlocking the broadest door to endless community engagement initiatives is the month of Ramadan; MSU has once again geared up for the year’s Ihya Ramadan. 

With over 2000 participants from MSU staff members and students, including MSU Group of Colleges all over the nation and offshore campuses, the MSU Ihya Ramadan 2024 launching ceremony took place at the Chancellor Hall of the main campus.

In collaboration with the Student & Career Development (SCD) Department, faculties, and departments of MSU, a spread of activities amounting to 236 will be transpiring over the course of 23 days, carrying the theme One Day One Kindness (1D1K); further emphasising the Giving and Grateful (2G) culture through sustainable strategies.

MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, addressed and officiated MSU Ihya Ramadan 2024.

 

 

“This upcoming month promises another period of Barakah, reflection, and compassion. We must undertake each initiative effectively, utilising the character-building skills cultivated through our participation in over 200 programmes and translating them into our ecosystem to guarantee success,” remarked the MSU President in his speech. 

Accompanying the MSU President for the launching gimmick were Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid, Vice Chancellor of MSU; Dato’ Rosli Yusof, Senior Vice President of Endowment and Communication; Dato Sharifah Huda Engku Muda, Senior Vice President of Administration and Human Capital; and Halijah Hassan, Director of SCD. 

 

 

University-wide daily iftar mentoring, Yayasan MSU Zakat distribution, Ramadan bazaar, Tarawih, and Qiamullail are among the major activities scheduled for the year’s Ramadan.

Whilst a thousand sit-down dinners are provided daily at MSU Plaza to students of the University for iftar, the breaking-of-fast get-together is also organised specially at the MSU Chancellor Hall for members of clubs and associations, orphans, members of the MSU Alumni Association, postgraduate and international students, partners of industry as well as authority, the MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC), and MSU high school Sekolah Bina Insan (SBI). 

GPS Ramadan 2024 Asean Tour by International Medical School (IMS), Ramadan Bright 2.0 by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Ramadan Hopebox by the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP), Ramadan Booster by the School of Pharmacy (SPH), Ramadan Iftar Box by the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS), Sinar Ramadan 7.0 by the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE), International Ramadan Bucket by the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), For Your Series 7.0 by the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), MSU Quranic League 2024 by the Centre of Fundamental Studies (CFS), and Gema Rebana Ramadan 2.0: Blink Blink Raya by the MSU College Shah Alam are the flagship events of each faculty for Ihya Ramadan 2024.

 

 

Among the mosques to be visited by various departments and faculties of the University are Masjid Diraja Tengku Ampuan Jemaah, Masjid Putra Height, Masjid Diraja Sultan Suleiman, Masjid Fastabiqul Khairat, Masjid Al-I’Tisam (TTDI), Masjid Jamek Ar-Rahimiah, Masjid Bandar Diraja Klang, Masjid Hidayatul Muttaqin (Bukit Lanchong), Masjid Al Ikhlas (Section 13), Masjid Setia Alam, Masjid Al-Irsyad (USJ 1), Masjid Raja Tun Uda (Section 16), Masjid As-Salam (Puchong), Masjid Negeri, Masjid Al Azhariah, Masjid Negeri, Masjid Darul Ehsan, Masjid Kota Raja (Klang), Masjid Taman Sri Muda, Masjid Bandar Bukit Puchong, Masjid Seksyen 7, Masjid Al-Hidayah (Section 18), and Masjid An-Nur (Glenmarie).

Fifty students representing diverse faculties will be volunteering to assist the SCD Department throughout the programmes, with a specific focus on distributing daily iftar
