A recipient of the President’s List Award in 2012 from the programme of Bachelor in International Business is Muhammad Azrul bin Azman. With hard work that never fails and luck that opens unexpected doors, together they pave the way to success for Azrul in his career with Millennium Welt Group.

 

 

As the head of Business Development and Corporate Strategy, Azrul did not expect to land a job in the group during his internship. With the intention to accompany his friend, Azrul was offered an opportunity to sit for the test to join Auto Bavaria as well. With luck on his side, he climbed the corporate ladder to success. His career in the group started in the finance and banking department for two years, then in the accounts department and finally in the sales department where he was trained for the process of the business. In 2021, he was promoted as the branch manager wherein his experiences in multiple departments prepared him for that very moment.

 

 

Quality over quantity is what defines Azrul as a person today. Practising a mindset to go beyond what is expected and learn as much as you can is what brought him to the pillar of success.

 

I didn't look for quantity but I looked for quality. What it means by quality is that, if you come to the office and you spend 8 hours doing the same thing every day, you will not learn anything more than you should but if you go to the office and you try to do something which does not belong to your job scope, at the end of the day you will learn something that might be very useful for you or for your career,” he advised.

 

 

To go beyond is what he believes in. The initiative to learn, to be proactive is what makes a good leader who can inspire and lead others. He adds how the programme he learned at MSU acts as a foundation for him to build his knowledge and skills as he strives to be and do more for himself and for his career.

 

He further emphasises the 5Ps that serve as a pillar or a set of principles that he deems important for a business or even personal development and career to grow and have value. His own principle focuses on the value that you can offer to yourself and to others where he cherishes the effort of self-improvement not just for himself but for those around him as well.

 

“I always tell to my team that in order for a certain company to grow we need to have a pillar like a house and to have that house we need to have proper value so you need things like accountability, trust, sustainability, togetherness and I believe these 5Ps will ensure growth. We need to have the right Place to do business, second you need to have the right Product, you need to have the right Price, you need to have the right Promotion, and the last one, without this you cannot survive and your business won't go further which is the People. I always believe in these 5Ps to support your goals or whatever you want to do,” he said.

 

 

To become an entrepreneur is Azrul’s goal but in less than 8 months after joining the Millennium Welt, he has obtained the title of Director at one of the companies as well as a shareholder for a few other entities. He aims to bring those working with him to the next level thus, elevating the company to reach beyond and gain more accomplishments. 

 

“Of course, as a shareholder I want to make sure that whatever investment that I put on, there's a return and at the same time I want to bring those people, those companies under my platform to the new level especially when that is where I am today and I want to make sure that KL North will be the preferred dealership in Malaysia,” he said.

 

Determination and commitment, are the values that brought Azrul to the top and as he continues the journey in his endeavour to grow as a person and in his career, he emanates inspiration for others to follow in his footsteps to success.
