International Medical School tops Class of February 2019 graduating numbers, presenting 157 new doctors with MBBS from Management and Science University (MSU)
Management and Science University (MSU) has held its 24th Convocation Ceremony this February 2019, with a new Chancellor and over eighteen hundred graduates from seventeen countries.
New Chancellor
His Royal Highness the Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Sultan Sallehuddin, was proclaimed MSU’s 2nd Chancellor at the start of the 24th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU).
The Chancellor’s wealth of experience and association with industry support the university’s aspiration for industry engagement to enhance employability and future-readiness of MSU graduates.
The university looks forward to its new Chancellor's leadership in Transforming Lives, Enriching Future.
The Presidential Address
“A measure of success is in the lives you change. Be the best, driven by values. Transform others’ lives, and enrich your future,” was the send-off message from Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid to the Class of 2019.
The MSU President also reminded the graduates to always remember their roots, no matter how high or how far in life they eventually get to.
"Always remember your parents. You owe your success to them," advised Professor Tan Sri Dr Shukri.

"Time and again, our members of alumni have shown that wherever you have come from, however small-town, and whetever your personal and academic backgrounds or life situation, you can be successful, going out into the world from MSU."
The Honorary Doctorate
An Honorary Doctorate in Education Management was presented to renowned expert of higher education development Professor Dr T. Chan Basaruddin. A professor of computer science at the University of Indonesia, he is also the Executive Board Director of Indonesia’s National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education, as well as President of the ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) and Vice-President of the Association of QA Agencies in the Islamic World (IQA).
"With innovative teaching and learning that continuously strive to develop quality human capital, MSU has set its course on the right path, a university driven by excellence. May you continue to be successful."

Five special awards were presented to the best graduates at the 24th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU).
The Chancellor Gold Medal was awarded to Bachelor in Accountancy (Honours) Tengku Sarah Tengku Ahmad Zulkifli, who was also the Class of 2019 Valedictorian.
The President Award went to Bachelor of Education (Honours) – TESL Pavithra Pillay Mani and Diploma in Culinary Arts graduate Husna Abdul Rahman.
The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award went to Bachelor in Computer Forensic (Honours) Chua Shang Ren.
Twenty-nine received the Academic Award and 26 the Industry Award.

One thousand one hundred and seventy-one received their Bachelor's degree and 577 their Diploma. Forty-three received their doctoral degree including 32 from the Doctor of Philosophy (Management/Business) programme, and 31 their Master's degree.
Six programmes presented their first batch of graduates: Master of Clinical Pharmacy, Bachelor in Islamic Management (Honours), Bachelor in Creative Video and Photography (Honours), Bachelor in Education (Visual Arts) (Honours), Diploma in Sport Science, and Diploma in Patisserie Arts.
Thirty-four graduates of Diploma in Culinary Arts were from the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM).
MSU International Medical School (IMS) topped the graduation numbers, presenting 157 new doctors with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
