  8. Virus and Bacteria

Description: ViBa is a research team comprising of researchers from various areas of Microbiology such as scientific Molecular Microbiology, Virology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology. Our group’s main focus is on bacteriophage and bacteria research. Bacteriophages are viruses which infect and kill bacteria. We believe bacteriophage research to be an area of extreme importance, with great potential still to be explored and exploited in the development of new treatments for infectious diseases. We support collaborative researches that help establish the safety and efficacy of phage therapy for key applications. Our goal also includes education regarding phage therapy for medical, scientific, and general population in Malaysia and abroad.
