Diploma in Sport Science
About The Course
The Diploma in Sport Science programme offers the opportunity for you to pursue your interests in athletics. You will develop in-depth knowledge of the key factors in sports, exercise and health through the science perspective. As a student of sport science, you would be looking into how exercise programmes and activities affect our health, and also physical activity as treatment and prevention of diseases. As the market for the sports industry grows, graduates of this programme will meet the country’s demand for experts trained in both science and sports at the administrative and sub-professional levels. This programme will be your first step towards a career in coaching, teaching, health and fitness, exercise science, leisure and sport administration.
Programme Structure Contents
You need to have passed SPM and obtained THREE (3) Credits including BM, Mathematics, and Science; OR obtained Sijil Kemahiran MARA (SKM) plus ONE (1) Credit at SPM; OR Sijil Politeknik and at least 2.0 CGPA; OR Sijil Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKM) and at least 2.0 CGPA; OR Sijil Sains Kesihatan PTPL and at least 2.0 CGPA. 
International students with equivalent qualifications approved by MSU Senate must also pass IELTS and score at least 5.5; OR TOEFL and score at least 550; OR O-Level English Language (equivalent to SPM 1119 English). 
You MUST also pass the interview, where you will be asked about your involvement in sports, achievements, and future plans; and the fitness test, which measures your body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. 
Diploma in Sport Science (DSS) is a two-and-a-half-year programme by the Department of Diagnostic & Allied Health Science (DHS) at the MSU Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (FHLS).
