What the course will give you
Whether you want to work in the kitchen, design your own restaurant, or run a catering business, the programme curriculum is a recipe of solid culinary knowledge blended with practical competency and managerial skills, perfect for aspiring chefs, managers, and entrepreneurs. Between theoretical classes and palate training, culinary methods and techniques, you will learn about food preparation, nutrition, cuisines, restaurant design, food critique, and F&B management. You will develop speed and teamwork, also communication and management skills.
You will be taught by industry professionals, and you train in our on-campus industry-standard kitchen and fine-dining room. An internship at the end of your studies provides you with the all-important foot-in-the-door introduction to your future working world, places you right in the heart of the job market. You graduate industry-ready for a career in the art of the culinary.

You could be working in top restaurants and hotels, with caterers, even on TV! If the pen is more appealing to you than the pan, you could even work in the media. Another popular choice especially among culinary art practitioners who have gone professional is to open their own business. Industry job titles that may appeal to you besides Chef have included Food Stylist, Specialty-Store Manager, and Product Development Consultant, among others.
Who can enrol
You will need TWO (2) Full Passes at STPM level OR THREE (3) Passes at A-Level OR an MSU Diploma in a related field.
Bachelor (Hons) in Culinary Arts (BCA) is a three-year career-focused industry-developed programme of MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA).
