What the course will give you
MSU’s diploma programme in leisure, outdoor, and adventure management aspires to meet the increasing demand by the flourishing leisure and recreation industry for graduates suitably equipped to handle increasingly sophisticated outdoor activities. You will train in the essential technical, teaching, and management skills, learning wilderness survival management, leisure facility design, life-saving, and rescue operation. With the natural environment as your living lab, you will develop sufficient awareness of environment’s connectedness to guide others into similar appreciation and enjoyment.
You will be trained by lecturers who are industry professionals, experts who developed our curriculum and share our passion in and commitment to experiential learning. A period of industrial internship towards the end of your studies places you right in the heart of the job market. The real-life environment and experience we provide will give you a deep understanding of the industry and develop your entrepreneurial and business skills. You graduate industry-ready for a professional career in outdoor, leisure and adventure management.

Where the qualification may lead you to
Career opportunities exist in entry-level leadership, outdoor education, adventure education, camp management, natural resource management, environmental interpretation, and ecotourism, to name a few. You could be working in youth programs, the travel industry, government ministries or departments, local authorities, resorts, parks, and recreational camps, for example, as officer, administrator, ranger, and therapist, among others.
Who may enrol
You will need THREE (3) Credits at SPM level; OR an equivalent qualification recognized by MSU Senate.
Diploma in Leisure, Outdoor and Adventure Management (DLM) is a two-and-a-half-year career-focused industry-developed programme of MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA).
