The MSU Career and Lifelong Education Fair 2023 (MSUcef2023), a biannual event hosted by the Continuing and Extended Education Centre (CEdEC) of Management and Science University (MSU), brought together hundreds of industry partners and recruiters offering over two thousand career opportunities to both students and the public.

 

 

MSUcef2023 saw the active participation of numerous diverse industries, including renowned names such as Habib Group, Getting Malaysia Berhad, Jiwa Perangsang Sdn Bhd (Geno Hotel), Bangi Resort Hotel, Jaguar Supreme, H&H Optical Sdn Bhd, Bio-Jourdeness Cosmetic Co. In addition to the diverse array of booths available for exploration, both students and the general public had the invaluable opportunity to attend illuminating industry talks by our esteemed industry partners: Rashidy Md Amin, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Innotex System Corporation Sdn Bhd; Thinesh Kumar Asogan, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lapasar.com; and Azrol Mohamad of Imtiyaz Consultancy Sdn Bhd. These talks were designed to impart valuable career insights and provide updates on the latest developments within various job fields, ensuring that participants left with a deeper understanding of their potential career paths.

 

 

Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, President of MSU, was joined by distinguished guests including Mag Ng Foong Yuon, Chairman of FMM Selangor and KL, Dato’ Sharifah Huda Engku Muda, Senior Vice President for Administration and Human Capital, Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Ghazali, Senior Vice President for Industry Linkages and Entrepreneurship, and Siti Amzidalina Ghazali, Director of CEdEC, at the launch of MSUcef2023.  

Addressing the industry partners, students, and participants, Professor Mohd Shukri, emphasises the fundamental importance of industry-embedded programmes.

 

 

“Industry-embedded programmes have been central to MSU’s mission of producing skilled workers and leaders in a variety of fields, so it is no surprise that the university’s MSUcef2023 will focus on fostering partnerships between the university and industries. MSU’s University Industry Advisory Panel (UIAP) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that education remains up-to-date and in sync with the latest industry progress. Employing teaching techniques that mirror the industry’s cutting-edge advancements and best practices. It also works diligently to reinforce the collaborative ties between the university and industry.”

Indeed, MSU’s commitment to industry-embedded programmes are its active involvement like the PENJANA (Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi) initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) are interconnected. The PENJANA programme aims to enhance graduate employability and address unemployment challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Within the context, MSU has proactively actively provided upskilling and reskilling opportunities in key areas such as Industry 4.0, Green Technology and Renewable Energy, Financial Technology (FinTech), Smart Construction Smart Farming, the Aerospace Industry, Blockchain Technology, Micro-Credentials, Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), and Future Technologies. This collective effort underscores MSU’s dedication to bridging the gap between education and industry needs.

Along with that, thirteen new Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were successfully executed, cementing partnerships with Big Pharmacy, Commerced Dot Com Sdn Bhd, Puncak Tegap Sdn Bhd, Rakyat Trustee Berhad, Innotex System Corporation Sdn Bhd, Plaza Premium Group, The Association of Malaysia SPAS (AMSPA), Hibiscus Grand Lexis, Royale Chulan Damansara, Allianz Malaysia Berhad, Sunway Multicare Pharmacy, Alpro Pharmacy, Air Adventure Flying Club. These collaborations mark a significant milestone in the University’s journey toward innovation and progress.
