Possessing knowledge of and having personal experience with the research process is a crucial element in ensuring that Management and Science University (MSU) students are adequately trained in critical thinking. Every faculty in the University prioritises promoting a culture of interdisciplinary learning and responding to national and global challenges among undergraduates. The School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS) of MSU hosted the SESS Colloquium, the Education and Social Sciences Research Project, centralising the various dynamics of the education ecosystem and individual development.

Taking place at the Performing Arts Theatre (PAT), the colloquium saw the participation of 250 students from the Department of Education and the Department of Social Sciences. 

Bagging the Best Research Poster are Nasyitah Raju Mohammad from the Bachelor in Education (Science) (Hons) programme at the Department of Education, for Perception of Inquiry-Based Learning in Laboratory Experiments Among Undergraduate Students; Hafizah Dawood Ali from the Bachelor of Education (Hons) – TESL programme at the Department of Education, for The Role of Vocabulary Learning Strategies on Learning English Vocabulary Amongst SESS Department of Education Students; and Noor Aneesha Zulkifli from the Bachelor in English Language and Literature Studies (Hons) programme at the Department of Social Science, for A Dystopian Utopia in the City of the Sun by Tommaso Campanella.

Winners of the Best Research Project are Amelia Shafinaz Azmi Faez from the Bachelor of Liberal Arts (Hons) programme at the Department of Social Science, for Colonialism and ASEAN Regionalism: Unveiling the Malaysian Perspective through MSU Undergraduates and Expert’s Insights; Ravinesh Shalesh @ Rajasingam from the Bachelor in Education (Physical Education and Health) (Hons) programme at the Department of Education, for Factors and Challenges Affecting the Motivation of Secondary School English Teachers in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Hamizah Dawood Ali from the Bachelor of Education (Hons) – TESL programme at the Department of Education, for The Role of Reading Habits in ESL Reading from the Perception of MSU SESS Department of Education Students. Receiving the consolation prizes are Sharifah Nabila Syed Mohd Ridzuan from the Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Hons) programme at the Department of Education, for The Integration of Technology by Teachers Towards Six-Year-Old Children’s Number Concept and Counting Skills at Bahtera Multiple Intelligence Preschool, Bukit Bintang; and Colleen Zia Marius from the Bachelor of Education (Hons) – TESL programme at MSU Learning Centre Sabah, for Factors and Challenges Affecting the Motivation of Secondary School English Teachers in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
