Creating a basis for fostering holistic and sustainable progress among academia and the community, the MSU Heritage Walk Series introduced its newest segment, the Kajang Heritage Walk.

Over one thousand students, lecturers, and members of the alumni community from the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) participated in the MSU Heritage Walk Series: Kajang Heritage Walk, in collaboration with the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKJ) and Tourism Selangor Sdn Bhd (TSSB).

MSU Vice Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Dato Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid; Dean of SHCA, Azizul Jamaludin; and Director of Students & Career Development (SCD), Halijah Hassan, graced the event.

The MSU Heritage Walk Series began with the Kuala Lumpur Heritage Walk in 2018; followed by the Royal Klang Town Heritage Walk in 2020, the Shah Alam Heritage Walk Virtual Edition 2021; and the Putrajaya Iconic Tour in 2022.

Beyond highlighting the singularity of Kajang’s six most pivotal landmarks, the fifth edition of the series underscores fostering the city’s rich cultural heritage among MSUrians. In the quest to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), Kajang Heritage Walk zeroed in on supporting Good Health & Well-Being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Partnership for the Goals (SDG 17).

Satay Putra, Shen Sze Yar Temple, Lorong Sejarah, Kajang Heritage Centre, Kedai Runcit Kwong Sah Woh, and Kajang Post Office were the places visited.

The launching event also witnessed the one thousand Ringgit contribution from SHCA to the MSU Foundation Yayasan MSU (YSMU) for Gaza Humanity Aids.

Sponsoring the campaign were JLH Industries (M) Sdn Bhd, Zonc Engineering Sdn Bhd, SMS Deen Jewellers, RealMe Malaysia, Restoran Sri Pelangi, and Malaysia Muslim Youth Club.
