The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) organised the GEmS [Graduate Employability Skills Programme], Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Mentoring (GLEM) Students Awards Ceremony for the academic year 2022/2023, at the Performing Arts Theatre (PAT) of Management and Science University (MSU). Under the theme “Shining Stars: Honouring Excellence in the World University”, this foremost edition of the flagship event centred on crediting and celebrating students’ outstanding extracurricular achievements.

Twelve stellar awards took centre stage, cherishing students for their phenomenal performances across a range of activities throughout the academic year. These accolades were attentively appraised, drawing on diverse metrics to capture the students’ excellence.

Ammar Akmal Abdullah, a student in the Diploma in Medical Science and Health programme, won the award for Most Active Student.

 

 

Wong Zheng Yee, a Bachelor in Forensic Science student, was honoured with the Best Leadership Award.

 

 

Diploma in Sports Science students Adam Haidar Mohd Ashhadi and Nurin Iridna Zamri bagged the Best Sportsmanship Male and Female Awards, respectively.

 

 

 

The Best Entrepreneurship Project Award was presented to FAMES (FHLS Alumni Market & Entrepreneur Sales), while the Best School Community Project Award was awarded to Eye Screening at Sekolah Rendah Islam Integrasi Puncak Jalil.

 

 

 

The best Ramadhan Project Award was granted to Community Service: Bakul Ramadhan 5.0.

 

 

PROTECH Singgah Sahur was conferred the Best Student Community Engagement Project.

 

 

The CASEH Environment – Tree Planting, Forest Conservation, Aquatic Ecosystem Revitalise Project got the Best SDG Project Award.

 

 

SCFAR (School Community First Aider Project) walked off with the Most Creative Project Award.

 

 

FHLS Sukan Rakyat emerged as the Best Engagement Project.

 

 

For his potluck with mentees, Dr. Santhra Segaran was awarded the Best Creative Minor Mentoring Project.

 

 

Wong Zheng Yee, the President of the Biovarsity Club for the academic year 2022/2023, has been acknowledged by the faculty for her remarkable contributions and steadfast leadership in the club. Aiman Nor Azlan, President of the ProTech Club for the same term, has also received appreciation for his impressive dedication and leadership in the club. Comparatively, Muhammad Aliff Zulkifli has been rewarded for his exceptional engagement and decisive leadership as the President of the Optometry Student Club (OSC) 2022-2023.

 

 

Credits were also presented to the dynamic leaders for the academic year 2021-2022. Misya Afiqah Noor Tuah, the President of Biovarsity Club; Nurul Ain Nadhirah Mohamad, the President of ProTech Club; and Ilham Syakirin Nor Asmadi, the President of Optometry Student Club, have all been felicitated for their notable contribution, commitment, and victorious management during their tenure.

Suhana Md Saad, Deputy Dean of Academics; Dr. Haniza Harun, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs; heads of department; programme managers; lecturers; and the FHLS student body collectively participated in this remarkable evening.
