Moulding starts in the bud. Education navigates beyond four walls: an educator, tens and hundreds of students, textbooks, and grades. A balanced, holistic, and well-rounded education is not only congruent for young and adult learners but also for toddlers, and here at Management and Science University (MSU), the emphasis can be seen.

The MSU Kids Sports Day of 2023 was a collaborative success. As an institute that is often keen to bridge the underlying gaps among the communities, MSU Kids Care Centre takes pride in catering to the needs of working parents to foster kids with the utmost care and nurture; one of the ways employed is through this annual programme.

MSU Kids Child Care Centre is led by Mr Achiek Sidek, the nursery’s Registered Operator, and Ms Faridah Aisya Yusof, the Principal. They oversee a total of twenty children, four in the Baby Care Group (ages 3 to 17 months), five in the Play Care Group (ages 18–29 months), eight in the Junior Care Group (ages 30-41 months), and two in the Senior Care Group (ages 42–49 months)

Operating at D’Kayangan, Seksyen 13, Shah Alam, the nursery has four children of MSU staff and sixteen children from the surrounding community.

Out of a total of seven aspects—language-early literacy, early mathematics and logical thinking, senses and nature, creativity and aesthetics, and a balanced diet—the two critical aspects of kids' growth that have been prioritised for this sports day are physical-motor skills and socio-emotional/personality development.

Various telematches were set up considering the age and developmental stage of the kids. The children were divided into three groups: the Baby Group, the Meoww Group, and the Rwarr Group. Adorned in vibrant and eye-catching attire, the kids, together with their parents, demonstrated energetic participation throughout the event. Why say more when brightly coloured gift baskets and shiny medals are on the queue?

Parental involvement made the occasion even more memorable. Their efforts to keep children safe and their unwavering backing to the organisers and events have already been celebrated as a triumphant first step towards more of the same in the near future.

High living costs demand the best of both parents in a family. In such cases, preschools are the feasible option for working parents to send their kids to. As much as the preschool amplifying around the neighbourhood gives several options for the parents to choose from, methodically, it is equally tough to distinguish the best one to accord with the family income.

MSU Kids Child Care Centre can easily tell one from another from its monthly theme of activities, weekly menu schedule, daily routine schedule, and meticulous learning approach framework, focusing not only on daily cares and games but beyond that, ensuring smooth transformation into primary education.

Serving as a Live Lab for the students of Early Childhood Education, which is offered as diploma, degree, and distance-learning (PJJ) programmes, the MSU Kids Child Care Centre is also the choice for the graduates of MSU to pursue their career as pre-school teachers.
